More WOES For Hillary Clinton As Plan B FAILS.
After series of attempts to oust Trump in 2016, Hilary Clinton’s only hope has just vanished before her eyes as Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand announced last week that she is dropping out the 2020 race.
“Today, I am ending my campaign for president,” New York’s junior U.S. senator announced Wednesday on Twitter. “I am so proud of this team and all we’ve accomplished. But I think it’s important to know how you can best serve. To our supporters, Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Now, let’s go beat Donald Trump and win back the Senate”.

In a way, it is a fitting conclusion to a campaign run by someone who rose to power on the back of the Clintons. Never forget that Gillibrand is the beneficiary of the former first family’s political influence and wealth. They endorsed her appointment and her various campaigns. One could even argue that the Clintons early support for Gillibrand’s career in Congress is the reason she even made it this far in the 2020 race.
And like Hillary Clinton herself, the senator’s attempts to win the Oval Office have ended in a humiliating defeat.
Her announcement this week was inevitable. Prior to pulling the plug on her White House bid, the only real question anyone ever had about her candidacy was this, When will she drop out?
For months, Gillibrand failed to gain traction with primary voters. Nothing worked or even came close to working. Her shameless attempts to pander to specific voting blocs went unrewarded, including when she appeared in a video during “Pride Month” milling about in a gay bar, dressed in a rainbow “Love is brave” T-shirt, sipping a whiskey, and shouting, “Gay rights!”

Like every other clip from her campaign, it was genuinely cringe-inducing. But note that as a member of the House, Gillibrand was given the lowest rating of any New York Democrat by the LGBT group Human Rights Campaign due to her opposition to the legalization of same-sex marriage in the Empire State

Gillibrand tried also to position herself as the candidate to take on the National Rifle Association, a clear and loud appeal to the Democratic base’s gun control fanatics.
However, this strategy likewise felt like an absolute charade on account of the fact that Gillibrand’s opposition to the gun rights group coincided perfectly with her rise to the Senate. Back when she served in the House as the representative of a fairly conservative district in New York’s Hudson Valley, Gillibrand and the NRA got along rather well.
Toward the end of her failed 2020 candidacy, Gillibrand failed to hit her fundraising goals, falling far behind where she needed to be to remain competitive in an already overcrowded primary.
This sad news for Hilary Clinton could bring the end of a long term plan to jeopardize the Trump campaign after several failed attempts.
